But you are not alone! Almost every single one of us forgets to prioritize ourselves, neglecting the essential moments of care and reflection that contribute to our overall well-being. We are just so busy with everything that happens around us, that we do not look at the center: YOU!
This 30-day self care challenge will help you along to finally take moments for yourself, to show you that you can and have the time to care for your own well-being.
In my previous post we talked about self care planners, but maybe the implementation of a big self-care routine sounds way too hard right now, and that’s okay. It’s all about keeping it simple, and just starting.
And I get it, you have lots of questions. How do you take care of yourself? Where do you find the time? You will soon find out that making time for yourself creates even more time for all the other things you want and need to do. Why? Each day offers a fresh opportunity to reconnect with ourselves and foster a greater sense of balance and fulfillment.
I feel that it is really important to highlight that this is a template. Feel free to change and move around the activities, if they are not suited for you. You do you!

Tips for the 30-day self care challenge
Before we dive into the activities, let’s take a moment for honesty and reflection. How are you feeling?
Are you ready to give a little to yourself too for the next 30 days? Do you feel inspired and motivated to start? Or are there a lot of doubts, making you unsure whether you can do this?
Do not worry, for that is entirely normal! We cannot change everything immediately, that’s why it’s so important to take it one day at the time.
Maybe the following tips to take on the challenge of 30 days of self care might help you feel more sure:
- Start with Baby Steps: Begin your self-care adventure with easy, doable activities that fit right into your busy day. As you sail through the challenge, you can level up to more exciting practices that speak to your heart.
- Keep the Spark Alive: Stick to your self-care routine every day, even if it’s just for a few minutes. Remember, consistency is the secret ingredient for a truly refreshing and fulfilling experience.
- Go with the Flow: Feel free to tweak the challenge to match your unique style and preferences. Make it your own and design your self-care journey in a way that feels perfect for you.
- Take a Moment: Pause and ponder over your journey now and then. Figure out what self-care activities make your heart dance and adjust your plan accordingly. Let your self-care time be all about what makes you sparkle.
- Share the Magic: Everything is better together! Try and find others who could also benefit from the self-care challenge, ask your friends if they want to join. Spread the love and joy by sharing your stories and tips with each other. Let’s make this journey a delightful and supportive ride!
The 30 days of activities
In the list below, I will go over all self care activities for the following 30 days. I hope to give you some inspiration and suggestions on how to approach each self care activity.
However, I want to emphasize that the most important part about this challenge, is that you do it for you. If you feel like you want to do a certain activity differently, please do so! It is your journey, so do it the way you want to!
So let’s look a little closer at the self care activities laid out for you for the next 30 days!
- Day 1: Set goals for the month ahead, envisioning the incredible achievements waiting for you.
- Day 2: Dance to your favorite songs. Just enjoy the music and let yourself go completely!
- Day 3: Cook a new recipe. Google for inspiration, or finally try that recipe you have pinned or saved months ago, but still haven’t got around to try.
- Day 4: Get dressed up! Put in an effort while choosing your clothes for the day. Wear your favorite shirt, choose earrings you haven’t worn in ages. Whatever it is that makes you feel good, just remember to dress up for YOU!
- Day 5: Practice gratitude. Write down what makes you smile, what makes you happy. Whether it’s 3 things or 10 things, just take a moment to appreciate your life!
- Day 6: Listen to a podcast. Sit down, get comfortable, put in your earplugs, and choose anything you want to listen to!
- Day 7: Watch a movie. There must be a lot in your Netflix watchlist, or maybe watch your all time favorite? Pick one and enjoy!
- Day 8: Treat yourself to a cozy coffee date and enjoy your favorite pastry at a local café.
- Day 9: Read a book. Is there one you have started ages ago, but never finished? Or do you have a book you have been wanting to read for ages? Take a moment to be with the pages without any interruptions.
- Day 10: Give a compliment. Whether you want to get out of your comfort zone and compliment a total stranger, or just send a message to a friend, share the love today!
- Day 11: Do a yoga session. If you don’t know how, no worries. There are countless of video’s on YouTube that will help you. Even if you’re a complete beginner, or you only have 10 minutes: you can do this!
- Day 12: Write down good things about today. Think of anything that happened that made you happy, the smaller the better! Even if it’s just one or two things, make sure you take this moment to look back on today and find the good things in every day.
- Day 13: Do some cleaning. Think as big or as small as you like. Want to sort out your entire closet? Go ahead! Or maybe just the cutlery drawer? Don’t think you have to do an entire cleaning spree, it’s about the small things, remember?
- Day 14: Buy yourself a gift. Is there something you have been wanting for a long time? Or maybe just go to a store and look for something you like and just BUY it! You deserve a treat love.
- Day 15: Get creative. Take out some paper and colored pencils, and just start drawing. Or maybe start a painting? Once again, Google is your friend: search for inspiration, for example a 5-minute tutorial on how to doodle a dog?
- Day 16: Go for a walk. Put on your shoes, head outside, and take a stroll. Venture off to places you haven’t been before, or go to your favorite place. Find the comfort in nature!
- Day 17: Have a face mask. Pamper yourself, give your skin some extra attention today.
- Day 18: Make your own affirmation. If you can’t think of anything, use the internet to get examples, but make sure you end up with something that truly means something to you!
- Day 19: Order in tonight. You don’t always have to be healthy, you don’t have to cook every night. Enjoy a meal that not only fills your stomach, but also your heart. And most importantly: enjoy it to the fullest, don’t feel bad!
- Day 20: Give yourself 3 compliments. Or more. Not less. You are so worthy of love, so give yourself some!
- Day 21: Meditate. Sit still and let your thoughts go. Or try a guided meditation session via YouTube or Spotify!
- Day 22: Have a social media cleanse. Anything that has a negative influence on you, should not pop up on your screen! Time to delete that negativity from your life, so take a moment to go through your social media and check what makes you happy and what does not. Unfollow all those people you should have unfollowed ages ago.
- Day 23: Go candle sniffing. Nothing better than the scent of candles. Go to a store with candles and awaken your senses, time to inhale the goodness!
- Day 24: Take a long shower or bath. Enjoy the warmth of the water, and relax your muscles. Wash all your negative thoughts and feelings away with the water.
- Day 25: Digital detox for an hour (or more!). Truly silence all those digital distractions. Put your phone away, turn off the TV, and just be in the here and now.
- Day 26: Eat your favorite dinner. After a long day, nothing is better than the comfort of some good food. When was the last time you ate your favorite thing?
- Day 27: Write a letter to yourself. Just let your thoughts flow, write anything you want. It is for you, and only you. There are also websites that where you can send yourself an e-mail, which will be e-mailed to you in the future on a date you choose!
- Day 28: Try a guided breathing exercise. Be open minded, find a YouTube video, and just breathe!
- Day 29: Go to bed early. Tuck yourself into bed and embrace a night of deep and restful sleep, so you feel refreshed tomorrow!
- Day 30: Reflect on the past 30 days and celebrate! You did it! What have you learned? And how do you feel?
Now all you have to do is start!
Congratulations, you have made it this far! Time to take that template, print it out, set it as your background, write it down, whatever you need to do to have that reminder that you are challenging yourself for the next 30 days to come!
