The Birth of “The 10 Days of Self Care Handbook”
What a rollercoaster have these past few weeks been.
At the start of 2024, I shared a reel calling out to all girlies ready to enter their Self Care Era, because I wanted to find like-minded people.
And wow, did I find myself exactly that (times 25000, literally). My Instagram had blown up overnight, my inbox was full of messages, and I got a lot of questions.
Most of those messages were requests for help, because nobody knew HOW to do this ‘self care’ thing.
The number one thing I read was: “I really want to prioritize myself, but I don’t know how/where to start“.
There was such a need for guidance. A push in the right direction. Because all these girls were THINKING the right things, they just didn’t know how to ACT on those things.
The intention was clearly there, but the mindset and confidence was missing.
And that’s when I started thinking of all of the things that really helped me when I started my self care journey. What if I bundle those together, and create a handbook, so that all those girls can have something to ease them into it?
So, I got to work. I worked like crazy, creating all the pages for the handbook as fast as I could, because time was ticking: These girls needed my help NOW.
Fast forward to 2 weeks later, and here we are: The 10 Days of Self Care Handbook is FINISHED!
What’s the Self Care Handbook About?
Okay, great, so you created a ‘handbook’. What does that even mean?
Well, I wanted to make something that could help you take those first few steps into their Self Care Era.
A guide that explains the basics of self care, and gives you a nudge in the direction you already know you want to go.
Because I’ve come to realize that that’s where the problem is: we know what we want, we are just too scared to do it. We doubt ourselves too much.
After these first few months of learning more about self care, I’ve realized that deep down, I know what I want, and I do know I’ve got it in me, it’s just fear that’s holding me back.
It’s scary to take control, to change and try out new things. Sometimes we just need a little push to get over that fear. Someone (or something) to take our hand, and says: here, let me help you get started.
I created this handbook with that in mind. I want it be something that helps you find the confidence that you ARE doing the right thing, that you are going down the right path.
Mostly, for you to stop saying and start doing.
Because you too know what you want, but you’re holding yourself back. You already started, because you’re reading this and thus you’ve decided that you want more self care into your life.
Now it’s just a matter of setting one foot after the other and keep going.
What’s in the handbook?
So, as I’ve said, The 10 Days of Self Care Handbook will guide you in taking those first few steps. How???
With over 60 pages full of information, tips, tricks, explanations and activities, all focused on self care.
Trust me, I’ve been incredibly extensive on giving you all the knowledge you need, while still keeping it simple and short, so you can ease your way into self care.

Part 1: Introduction to Self Care
Let’s start with the basics: the what, how and why of everything self care.
In this first part, we go over the definition of self care, what the benefits are, and how to find the time to add self care to your daily life.
I also provide you with some examples on how to get started and you already get a list of self care ideas!
And it’s not only information and reading, no, there’s already two things I need you to DO before we get to part 2, but I don’t want to give away too much. All I will say is that the exercises here highlight your starting point, and will boost your journey from here on out.
All of this will get you all settled in for the real deal: jumping into the self care activities.
Part 2: The 10 Self-Care Activities
After you’ve learned about the know-how of self-care, it’s time to get started. I picked out the top 10 activities that helped me the most in the beginning, and gave me a lot of guidance throughout the months that followed.
I tried to incorporate a big variety of self care exercises, to make sure you can discover a little bit of everything. Without fulling going into detail, let’s just say that the activities range from physical self care exercises, to getting creative and of course journaling your way into your mind.
With each activity, you will take another step towards self care. You are guided through every exercise, starting with an explanation of what the activity is and how it helps you in your journey to self care.
With these exercises, it will be much easier to walk that road to a better you.
Part 3: Reflection
After you have completed the 10 exercises (or during, whatever you prefer!), you’ve come to part 3: The Reflection. This is the part where you pause and reflect on your journey so far.
As I will explain in the handbook, reflection is a big part of self care. What was the impact of each activity on your feelings? How will you continue from here?
Part 4: Bonus Content
Of course I will not leave you empty handed. Aside from being able to repeat the activities in the handbook over and over again (because you can!), I end the handbook with a lot of bonus content.
You will get additional resources and insights in the bonus content, extending a helpful hand for your ongoing self-care journey.
