It’s time to take charge of your anxiety and get back on top of life!
Today, we’re diving into the transformative practice of using affirmations to soothe those anxious thoughts and calm your frazzled nerves.
Let’s explore the power of affirmations for anxiety together!
Understanding Anxiety
Anxiety can creep up on you slowly, or it just hits you, and there are SO many reasons for it.
Maybe you’ve been dealing with a lot of stress from things like school, work, deadlines or problems in your life.
Sometimes, past bad experiences or stuff we haven’t dealt with can pop up out of nowhere and make us feel super anxious too.
Even things like being in a crowded place or hearing loud noises can make us feel uneasy.
Our brain and body are reacting to all sorts of stuff at once, which can lead to anxiety.
And when you’re anxious, your minds get overwhelmed with worry, making it hard to think clearly.
Our bodies have this natural reaction called “fight or flight” that kicks in when we’re stressed, which is what makes us feel anxious.
Stress hormones flood our brain, impairing rational thinking and focus.
Our attention gets fixated on potential threats, leaving little room for logical reasoning.
This foggy thinking is a natural part of the body’s response to anxiety.
All this is to say that 1) it’s normal to feel anxious, it’s a natural response of your body, and 2) it’s also completely logical that it’s hard to get out of the anxious spiral, because you are in fight-or-flight mode and can’t think rationally.
Luckily, there are ways to cope with anxiety and help you out, because it’s extremely difficult to do it just by yourself.
And I bet you can guess what my go-to is when I’m feeling anxious?
It’s affirmations.
The Power of Affirmations
Affirmations are positive statements that we repeat to ourselves to challenge and overcome negative thoughts and beliefs.
They work by gradually rewiring our subconscious mind, replacing limiting beliefs with empowering ones.
Research has shown that affirmations can be an effective tool for reducing anxiety and improving overall mental health.
By cultivating a practice of positive self-talk, we can shift our perspective and approach to life’s challenges.
And affirmations work super well for anxiety too!
Using affirmations for anxiety can shift your focus from worry to calm.
Repeating affirmations will help rewire your thought patterns, guiding you out of the darkness.
They can flip those negative thoughts on their head, making you feel more in control and less like you’re drowning in worry.
It’s like giving your brain a different script to read, which is exactly what you need when you’re stuck on repeat with the same anxious thoughts and feelings.

Now, what sort of affirmations can help you with anxiety?
I’ve chosen 12 affirmations that really help me a lot when I go through an anxious moment, and I hope you can benefit from them too.

And that’s 12!
Now that we’ve got our affirmations, how do we use these when we’re going down the dark hole of anxious thoughts?
Integrating Affirmations for anxiety into Your Life
Incorporating these affirmations into your daily life can be a powerful tool for managing anxiety.
I personally can have these sudden anxiety attacks out of nowhere, where nothing was wrong and I felt completely fine, and then BOOM!
My brain will fog up and I’ll be spiralling down so fast I have no idea what to do.
It’s in those moments where I need those affirmations for anxiety immediately.
And having the affirmations in my head won’t really work, because that’s exactly the place where I’m trying to get away from.
That’s why I recommend to write your anxiety affirmations down, and carry them with you throughout your day.
In doing so, you will have them right there with you whenever you need them.
When you’re all stuck inside your head, these cards are out there in the physical world: you can feel them, you can see them, and you don’t have to THINK about them.
Secondly, it’s all about trying it out, and not stopping after the first time wasn’t how you would’ve liked it to go.
It’s about repetition. Whether it’s one statement, over and over, or all 12 of them, repeating one after another: you do you.
See what works for you, but my biggest tip is to not stop when you don’t feel better immediately. It’s a process, you’re literally rewiring your brain, and that takes time (and a lot of repetition).
Keep going, because if I know one thing for sure, it’s that not doing anything definitely doesn’t work.
Anxiety Coping Statement Cards
Knowing I have affirmations for anxiety in my bag already gives me a great sense of calm.
In fact, it works so well, that I decided to create an anxiety coping statement card deck.
I mean, hand-written anxiety affirmations on a piece of paper work fine, but having these gorgeous cards that are also aesthetically pleasing level it up from fine to fantastic.
It’s that little extra effort that reminds me that I’m doing amazing for coping with my anxiety, and I’m helping myself work through it, and that I deserve to.
If you’re curious, you can check them out right here.
I’m absolutely in love with them, just seeing them already makes me feel calmer and happier.
I pull one every time I feel stressed or anxious, and I will repeat the sentence on the card until I feel calmer.
I always keep them near me, usually on my computer or desk, but you can use them in many ways, tape it to the wall, on/in your journal, or even to your mirror as a constant reminder that you are fine and everything will be ok!
For me, these cards are the perfect solution to stop me from going down the spiral of negative self-talk and anxiety.
I hope they can help you as much as they help me!
Coping with anxiety through affirmations
The key for making affirmations work, is repetition.
When you repeat them regularly, you’re training your brain to think positively, which can ease anxious thoughts and bring a sense of peace.
It’s like giving yourself a pep talk whenever you need it, reminding you of your inner strength and resilience.
Affirmations for anxiety are the perfect little helpers when you feel yourself getting those anxious feelings again.
Personally, they help me to move forward during difficult times, so that I can relax and feel calmer. I find them incredibly helpful.
Let these affirmations be the very tiny but incredibly powerful tool for your anxious moments, right there whenever you need them.
So, next time you’re feeling anxious, try saying a few affirmations to yourself and see how they can help you feel more grounded and confident.
