10 Quick Self-Care Activities to Try
Okay, ready to try out some quick self-care activities you can do right now, of which most won’t even cost you 5 minutes of your time?
Then let’s dive in!
- Take a 5-minute mindfulness break: Close your eyes, take a few deep breaths, and let go of any tension you’re holding onto.
- Stretch for a few minutes: Roll your shoulders, reach for the sky, and give your body a much-needed stretch.
- Enjoy a cup of herbal tea: Brew your favorite blend, sip slowly, and savor the moment.
- Make sure to NOT go on your phone while doing this, really be in the moment!
- Listen to your favorite song: Put on your headphones, close your eyes, turn up the volume of your favorite song and let the music transport you to a happier place.
- Practice gratitude: Grab a pen and paper, and jot down three things you’re grateful for right now.
- Step outside for fresh air: Take a quick stroll around the block or simply stand outside and breathe deeply.
- Do a quick body scan: Check in with your body, starting from your head down to your toes, and try to release any tension you find.
- Give yourself a mini hand massage: Apply some lotion and gently massage your hands to soothe tired muscles.
- This one always mesmerises me with how good this feels! Our hands are so neglected, even though we use them SO MUCH, so try this out and notice how amazing it feels to give your hands some much needed attention
- Visualize Success: Spend a minute visualizing yourself achieving a goal or overcoming a challenge.
- Visualization can increase motivation and focus (but I’ll get into that in another blog post!)
- Declutter your workspace: Clear away any clutter on your desk to create a clean and calm environment.

Incorporating Quick Self-Care Activities Into Your Day
Now that you have a list of quick self-care activities to try, the next step is incorporating them into your daily routine.
Schedule short breaks throughout the day to make sure you take in a moment of self-care.
If you REALLY can’t step away (but honestly, that’s exactly when you must, but that’s a conversation for another day), another option could be to combine self-care with other tasks.
For example, enjoy a cup of tea while you’re tackling your inbox.
Do know that the effects won’t be as beneficial, because you’re still not fully in the moment then, but it’s a start!
Remember, self-care doesn’t have to be complicated or time-consuming.
It’s all about prioritizing your well-being and making yourself a priority, even when life gets hectic.
You Decide How To Dedicate Your Time
In a world that never seems to slow down, self-care often takes a backseat to our busy schedules.
But by taking just a few minutes out of your day to prioritize yourself, you can make a world of difference in how you feel.
You should always be able to have at least five minutes to step back and take a moment just for you.
And if you feel like you don’t? Well, that’s EXACTLY when you need those five minutes (at least!).
You get to decide how much time you want to spend on yourself.
If you really think about it, you should at least dedicate as much time on yourself as you do on other people.
You’re important too, so take that moment, because it’s YOUR life and your time.
You don’t owe anyone anything, expect for yourself.
Now, put that phone away, and take the next five minutes for you. You deserve it!
