Uhm excuse me, but what do you mean it’s the LAST MONTH OF THE YEAR?
This is it girls: we’re heading into the final stretch!
November was seriously CRAZY busy, and I was so overwhelmed by all of the work that I really had to put Instagram on the back burner, because I just couldn’t do it ALL.
And in my personal life, this past month has been all about family. And not just because of Thanksgiving, no. I set clear intentions for November: the focus was on Business + Family.
Well…after literally running through this entire month, I’m so ready to reset now, so here is my December reset routine 2024 — let’s do this!
Last Month’s Goals
Health + Wellness
✔ Run a half-marathon
✗ Start my bedtime routine no later than 9 pm
✗ Have a self-care evening
Life
✗ Create a life planner to organize my life more
〜 Declutter the attic
✔ Host a Thanksgiving party
Work
✔ Set up my Etsy shop
✔ Hit my income goal
✔ Promote my digital products on IG
Let’s start with running the half-marathon, because I DID THAT!!! I am beyond happy & proud of myself, because I had that on my list ever since February (when I ran my first), and it took me months to finally take that step again. YAY! As for bedtime, and self-care: yikes, that was bad…no rest, no breaks, and definitely very short nights. To say I’m tired is an understatement…
There wasn’t even room to create a life planner, and I can sure say that I DO NOT feel organized at all. Decluttering the attic is a ‘sort of’, but that’s all thanks to my boyfriend, for he was the one who took that up (thank you baby)!
As I just said, business was a priority, but that’s also why I feel SO good to be able to check off all 3 of my Work goals for this month. I MEAN: I SET UP AN ETSY SHOP!!! FINALLY!! Income was good, with the tutoring and my digital products selling like crazy, and despite Etsy taking up lots of time I still managed to also promote my products for Black Friday on Instagram!
All in all, I really really neglected myself and my rest, because I prioritized my business over literally everything this month, but I also feel strongly that it will all be worth it in the long run!
Reflect & Reset Journal Prompts
Let’s dive into my December Reset Routine of 2024 with my monthly journal prompts!
What am I most proud of for accomplishing this month?
1000% finally starting my Etsy shop. It was scary, it was hard, but I put up those listings and now it’s live! Really happy with how it looks so far, and I’m so excited to see where this will go!
How was I feeling this month? Why?
I was a crazy rollercoaster emotion-wise. My mood would switch every minute, from hysterical laughter to deep dark depression. I put so much pressure on myself with all the things I wanted to do for my work, it was too much and the stress got so high.
What events happened this month?
I didn’t really have any events planned this month, except for a running event in a neighboring town. However, November sure was big on family things, and I visited family practically every weekend (and my sister came to my place to catch up). Glad I took the time to see everyone, and reconnect.
I wrapped up November with a Thanksgiving dinner I had been eagerly planning for weeks. It was a magical evening, filled with love and gratitude. I truly couldn’t feel anything but so THANKFUL!
One thing I’m grateful for that got me through the month.
It’s finally that time of year again when the lights come out to prepare for Christmas, and my neighborhood is going all out this year (and also really early), which I LOVE! The houses look so cozy and bright, and it makes me so happy!
+ The countdown until the Christmas Tree Farm in town opens up and I get to pick out a Christmas tree with my dad (our yearly tradition), is always a think that makes my November good!
List some things you learned this month.
If I want things to change, I need to speak up. I can open up, say what’s on my mind, and allow other people to hear my thoughts. I won’t get anywhere if I don’t talk about my feelings, and it will always make it better (even if it feels worse at first).
If I could redo this month, what would I do differently?
Take enough breaks in between. It has been all work, no rest, and that’s just not okay. I would make sure I took a step back, and not work 14 hours a day, non-stop. It’s just not okay.
How will I prioritize myself in December?
I said this last month too, but I didn’t do it. That means I just need to make sure I stick to my word this time, so here goes: I’m scheduling in self-care moments daily, so I make sure I REST.
Highs & Lows
↗ High: Took incredible action steps in my business, on all fronts. Very happy with the results and looking forward to seeing the effort I put in in the past month give the results I’m hoping for!
↘ Lows: Stressed out x100. My self-care completely fell through this month, and I’ve realized how much it impacts everything else in my life. I need balance between work and rest, because if I don’t rest, everything lowers. Not just my mood, but also my productivity and my happiness.
Current Obsessions
What has been my obsession this month? Well…
Audiobooks on Spotify (free!)
Remember that friend that came over last month for pumpkin carving? Well, she was lyrical about audiobooks, and she influenced me BIG TIME. I had never ever listened to one before, but after our talk I found myself going to Spotify (they finally added audiobooks in The Netherlands last month!), and checked out some of the free ones that were available.
As for the free audiobooks, it’s mostly English Lit Classics, but they’ve been on my TBR for ages, so I thought: why not? I began with “Little Women” by Louisa May Alcott and OH MY GOD.
I do not exaggerate when I say I literally grabbed my EarPods every chance I got to continue the story. While I was going for a walk, preparing dinner, on the road, or cleaning around the house: that narrator’s voice was in my ears. I finished that first audiobook in less than a week, and I’m on my fourth book now in less than a month. Oops!
(If you need any recommendations for free audiobooks on Spotify, don’t hesitate to ask!)
My New Sweater
My sister visited me the second week of November and we went into town for lunch and a little shopping.
We have the same love language (gift giving), so she insisted on buying me this new sweater and it’s safe to say that I’m OBSESSED.
I might have worn it just a little bit too often this month, but it’s so warm and soft and even with my pyjama pants it still looks good.
I mean, most often a sweater on top of my joggers just looks ridiculous and I wouldn’t want to be found death wearing that, you know what I mean?
Well, NOT this one! The comfiness of the sweater + the fact that it was a gift = double the happiness
December Goals
Oh December, what will happen this month? Because of all the pressure of November, my plan for December is mostly to cut it down a bit and live in the moment.
I’m keeping the goals I didn’t achieve this past month on there, because they are what I want to focus on! I really want to prioritize my sleep & getting enough rest, because I need it to function better overall. Self-care & sleep. That’s the goal.

December Vision Board
Quote of the Month
This month’s quote is by Lori Deschene, and it’s exactly what I want to focus on for December:
Yup. The perfect reminder for what I need for December: rest, recharge, and reflect.
I’ve spent so much of the year pushing myself to do all the things, and I can feel how that’s affected my energy and focus.
This month, I’m letting go of the hustle and making space to slow down—because sometimes, the most productive thing you can do is take care of yourself.
So in case you needed it too, let this be a sign that we all should take it a bit easier this month, and make sure you’re present for all the happiness December will bring!
Well that’s it for this month’s reset routine. I hope you enjoyed reading my December Reset Routine 2024, and I’ll talk to you soon!
