Can you believe we’re entering 2025 in less than 24 hours?!?!
I’m so not ready, but at the same time I couldn’t be more excited…
New year, new goals, and a fresh start—there’s just something so exciting about going into a new year!
December was a whirlwind with holiday prep, celebrations, and tying up loose ends for the year. Now, it’s time to hit reset and dive into 2025 with clarity and purpose.
So, without further ado, here’s my January reset routine for 2025—let’s do this together!
Last Month’s Goals
Health + Wellness
✗ Crossfit Bootcamp
✔ Have a self-care evening
〜 Start my bedtime routine no later than 9 pm
Life
✗ Create a life planner to organize my life more
✗ Declutter the attic
✔ Go somewhere between Christmas and New Year’s
Work
✔ Have my first Etsy sale
✔ Prepare business for 2025
✗ Create good listing photo’s for all of my products
Oh December, where do I start? This past month took a turn from feeling so fired up to finish the year strong, to taking a step (or few) back and slow down — because I was tired beyond anything I’ve ever experienced. I really had to drop basically everything I was doing, and just rest.
Oh December, what a month it’s been. What started with high hopes to finish the year strong quickly turned into a much-needed slow down. I was utterly exhausted, needing rest more than anything else. The bootcamp got cancelled, and a hip injury kept me from running after the half-marathon, so I ended up taking a full break from working out. It was tough to accept, but I’m glad I listened to my body.
Instead, I focused on self-care. I had my first proper relaxing evening in ages—picture an 1.5 hours long soak with candles all around the bathtub, a Lush bath bomb, and the second book of the Twisted series –– just perfect! My bedtime routine is still a challenge, but I’m definitely getting better at winding down earlier. Some nights, I was just too tired to stay up past 8 pm!
As for my Life goals, the planner didn’t happen, but January is the month it’s finally getting done. The attic? Not touched—honestly, I just didn’t have the energy. However, our trip between Christmas and New Year’s was the perfect getaway. I’m currently typing this from my sister’s incredibly gorgeous seaside apartment, which we get to stay in, and getting to walk to the beach every morning for some fresh air is simply the best thing ever!
On the work front, I woke up two days ago to find out I had MY FIRST Etsy sale! Such a happy moment. I’ve also been brainstorming business ideas for 2025, and while I don’t feel completely ready, I’m making preparations and excited for what’s to come. The first thing on my list for January? Updating my product photos—definitely needed!
To conclude, December turned out very different from what I had expected: less progress on my goals, but I believe everything happens for a reason, and this was the perfect way to close the year.
Reflect & Reset Journal Prompts
Let’s dive into my January Reset Routine of 2025 with the monthly journal prompts!
What am I most proud of for accomplishing this month?
This is a close tie between getting my first Etsy sale, which I am so incredibly proud of, and allowing myself to rest this month and take a step back. Rest is something I struggle with a lot, so taking it slow this month was super hard, but I’m proud of myself for doing it!
How was I feeling this month? Why?
So. Extremely. Tired. Maybe it’s the exhaustion of everything that happened this year catching up to me, maybe it’s because we haven’t seen the sun shine in over 2 weeks, but my energy levels were down the drain. Aside from that, I felt happy and grateful for all that has happened over the past year, and to be where I am now!
What events happened this month?
SO MUCH HAPPENED. I don’t even know where to begin!
December was a rollercoaster, and I began this month riding a literal roller coaster when I went to an amusement park with friends. It was such a fun day, and I can’t believe I actually dared to ride the roller coaster (I was scared sh*tless).
Lots of parties, decorating the house for the holidays, visiting the Christmas market in Oberhausen, celebrating Christmas with my loved ones and most importantly: getting THE BEST NEWS EVER (which has to remain a secret for now, sorry…)
December brought me the biggest joy I’ve ever felt until now, and despite feeling so low in energy for part of it, the happiness from all those around me lifted me up more than I could ever explain. What an amazing time!
One thing I’m grateful for that got me through the month.
My family and friends, 1000%. They were there, supporting me, sending me love and care, and getting to spend time with them meant so much to me.
List some things you learned this month.
It’s okay to rest. You can’t always give 100% (or 120% if you know me by now). There needs to be balance. And if you keep on going on full speed for 11 months in a row, the 12th month will put you down and let you know that it’s time to take a pause.
The world doesn’t end when you take a step back. In fact, a reset like this is exactly what gives you MORE of everything after you get back.
If I could redo this month, what would I do differently?
Listen to what my body is telling me earlier, and trusting the things I’m feeling. I knew what was happening days before I finally accepted it and hit the pause button. Next December, I’ll not see the last month of the year as a sprint, but as a moment to slow down and appreciate all that I DID manage to achieve in 2025.
How will I prioritize myself in January?
I’m going to listen to what my mind & body are telling me. I’ll ask myself the question: “does this thing I want to do actually feel right, or is it something I think I must do?”. And if so, the next question is: “why do I need to do this, is it really important?”. With those two questions, I’ll make sure I prioritize what I want and need, not what I think I have to do.
Highs & Lows
↗ High: Finally achieving something I’ve been wishing for years, and I still can’t believe it.
↘ Lows: My energy levels going down the drain and literally having to spend an entire week on the couch (although having a Harry Potter Marathon made that better)
Current Obsessions
What has been my obsession this month? Well…
Visiting Christmas-Themed Places
I have such a soft spot for Christmas vibes, and this year I decided to soak in as much of it as possible!
From the twinkling lights and cozy stalls at the Christmas market in Oberhausen to the magical winter-themed amusement park “De Efteling” in Kaatsheuvel, I’ve been living my BEST festive life.
There’s just something so nostalgic and joyful about wandering through these places with a hot cocoa in hand, surrounded by all things merry and bright.
It feels like stepping into a holiday movie!
Visiting the Beach in Winter
I’m obsessed with strolls along the seashore! As I mentioned before, we’re staying at my sister’s place in The Hague right now, and her apartment is in Scheveningen, the seaside district of The Hague, which means the beach is just a short walk away.
I’ve fallen in love with winter walks by the sea. The brisk wind, the crashing waves, and the feeling of being bundled up in a warm scarf while the cold air brushes against my face—it’s surprisingly peaceful.
It’s so quiet compared to the overcrowded beach during summer heat waves. Just a few people wrapped in thick coats, and dogs joyfully running along the shore. I love watching it all unfold!
It’s like the beach takes on a whole new personality in winter, and honestly, I might love it even more this way!
January Goals
January feels like the perfect time to hit the ground running with fresh goals and new energy for the year ahead, but I also want to start slow and not go all-in immediately and drain myself again, so these are my goals:
Health + Wellness
♡ Have a health check-up
♡ Eat enough fruit & veggies
♡ Start my bedtime routine no later than 9 pm
Life
♡ Host a High Tea for my birthday
♡ Create a life planner to organize my life more
♡ Declutter the attic
Work
♡ Follow an Etsy Course
♡ Get 3 collaborations on Insta
♡ Create good listing photo’s for all of my products
I’m focusing on the basics this month: getting a health check-up, eating more fruits and veggies, and starting my bedtime routine by 9 PM for better rest (this time for real!). Simple but impactful changes.
Since it’s my birthday on January 4th, I’m hosting a High Tea Party for my birthday! I’m keeping the life planner on there, same as last month, because that’s what will help me stay on top of everything. Plus, I’m finally tackling the attic too, because that just needs to be done ASAP.
And for work, I’ve got big plans, but we need to build the foundation: I’m following an Etsy course to level up my shop, I want to do three Insta collaborations, and I need to improve the listing photos for all my products to make them stand out.
Here’s to an intentional and productive start to 2025—let’s make it count!
My Intention for January
This January, I’m focusing on creating a soft launch for the year—this month I want to set the tone for the year: slow and steady, not rushed or frantic. It’s about creating a foundation of balance and intention, allowing space to breathe, reflect, and ease into the rhythm of 2025. No need to rush!
January Vision Board
Quote of the Month
This month’s quote fitted so perfectly with my intention, I knew it had be the quote of the month:
It’s such a perfect mantra for this season of fresh starts.
This month, Instead of diving into the hustle, I’m honoring a slower pace and focusing on progress, not perfection.
January doesn’t have to be a sprint—it can be a quiet, intentional foundation for everything that’s to come
So, if you’ve been feeling the pressure to start the year at full speed, let this be your permission to ease into it instead.
Whether it’s tiny steps or big strides, all that matters is that you’re moving forward, at your own pace.
Let’s embrace a calm and intentional January together.
